This Friday night in Ol' Melbourne town the ever so royal Queen of Techno STEFFI will grace the 1200's at The Liberty Social for another sold out OOF event!
Holding a residency in Berlin's most notorious upstairs club, Panorama Bar, Steffi is sure to bring the house goodness she is ever so famous for, and we are ever so hungry for.
Not much else can be said to describe the vibe for this party, so if you were lucky enough to get a ticket, we will see you on the dancefloor!
You debuted your Aussie tour in Adelaide & Sydney last week. What do you look forward to doing in your time off here?
I'm in Singapore at the moment waiting to fly to Darwin to visit Kakadu national park, with a dear friend who I met when I lived in Australia in 1996-1997. I am very excited about coming back and of course I wanna see if some places still look the same, probably not ;-).
What can we expect from your sets? Are you bringing across records or going the lighter option?
You're no stranger to throwing parties of your own. What do you think makes a great party?
The reason for throwing my own parties was to be in control of the musical program, inviting the artists that I would like to work with. I always tried to create a platform for music that wasn't showcased that much at that time, so I could show people something different than the mainstream parties offered back then.
"We just did our first two live shows and it's new for me and I have to say, I totally love it!"
You've released work on some of our favorite deep house and techno labels like Underground Quality and Tsuba as well as running your own labels Klakson and Dolly. Do you believe record labels still play a key role in underground music these days?
Of course, no record label, no music :-). A record label is the way to communicate a vision and with your music you can reach a lot of people who share the same interest.
You released your debut album "Yours and Mine" last year on Osgut Ton, can we expect another album anytime soon and what else do you have in the pipelines?
I have just finished an album with the 'third side' this is a vinyl only (sorry guys) project I have together with analogue cops who own restoration records. We just did our first two live shows and its new for me and I have to say, I totally love it! We will doing more live shows when I'm back from Japan. Other than that my new 12" for Ostgut Ton comes out mid september, a track on a compilation for Field Records, a track for the Bleep project (warps label) and some remixes. And I am going back into the studio to work on a full length album with Virginia.
Can you share 5 of you favourite records at the moment with us?
